Universal Hilton Workers Ratify their First Union Contract

Congratulations to the workers of the Universal Hilton, who ratified their first union contract at 100%! With this incredible new contract, workers go from paying 100% for their health insurance to only paying 20% and the company pays the rest. Workers also won a pension and access to the legal fund. And housekeepers will continue to benefit from the Hotel Worker Protection and the Worker Retention ordinances Local 11 helped pass, capping workloads to 8 rooms per shift and protecting them from losing their jobs.

Support Pregnant Women at the Long Beach Yacht Club

Two workers at the Long Beach Yacht Club filed complaints with the California Civil Rights Department for the alleged sex-based harassment the two mothers endured while working at the Yacht Club. Both allege that the private club failed to respond appropriately to repeated complaints of sex-based harassment, specifically against pregnant women, that took place over the course of multiple years at the private club.
