Two workers at the Long Beach Yacht Club filed complaints with the California Civil Rights Department for the alleged sex-based harassment the two mothers endured while working at the Yacht Club. Both allege that the private club failed to respond appropriately to repeated complaints of sex-based harassment, specifically against pregnant women, that took place over the course of multiple years at the private club.

Launching New Contract Negotiations at SOFI Stadium
Workers at SoFi Stadium started negotiating their new contract. One of the demands is that FIFA—for the security of workers and fans alike—keeps ICE out the stadium during the upcoming World Cup games.
Victory at the Anaheim Hilton
Over at the Anaheim Hilton the company was holding on to the server’s and bartender’s cash tips and adding them to their paychecks every two weeks. But those tips belonged to the workers who should have access to the money the moment they are tipped. The workers took it to arbitration and won the right to keep their tips and not have to wait two weeks before receiving the money. Sí se pudo!

New York Times: Infantino and FIFA discuss asking President Trump for moratorium on World Cup ICE raids
FIFA received strike threats from thousands of workers at SoFi Stadium, the tournament’s host venue in Los Angeles… with ICE topping the list of concerns outlined by the local union as it negotiates a new bargaining agreement. The advocacy group Human Rights Watch last week also called on FIFA to “seek a public guarantee from federal authorities to refrain from immigration enforcement at games and venues.”

On March 28, 2026, an estimated 8 million people participated in over 3,300 “No Kings” protests across all 50 U.S. states and in several international locations. Local 11 participated in three protests, in AZ, in OC, and in DTLA! In Los Angeles we gathered signatures For the Overpaid CEOs tax, in Phoenix we teamed with Worker Power and asked people to send a letter to ASU asking them not to pay poverty wages to their cafeteria workers, and in Anaheim our Co-President Ada Briceño addressed the protesters while we collected signatures for the billionaire tax petition.

BREAKING NEWS: On Eve of Trial, Flying Food Group Admits to Violating Worker Rights, in Settlement of Major Labor Case
In a highly unusual step, Flying Food Group was required to admit that it had violated workers’ federal labor law protections as part of the settlement. The outcome is considered a major victory for workers who have been speaking out about what they have alleged is abusive treatment at work.

The day before Flying Food Group workers testified at LA City Council about the fire they experienced in their workplace in January, which coincidentally was the 115th anniversary of the deadly Triangle Shirtwaist Factory. This fire was one of the deadliest industrial disasters in U.S. history, causing the deaths of 146 garment workers—123 women and girls and 23 men. UNITE HERE is a proud successor union to the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, the union to which some Triangle factory workers belonged.
12NEWS: ‘Suffocating’: Workers at ASU Panda Express strike, citing unsafe heat conditions after worker hospitalized, union says
Workers at a Downtown Phoenix ASU Panda Express have walked off, citing unsafe heat conditions and urging a state investigation, according to a union complaint.
“It is suffocating”, said Vanessa Martinez, one of the Aramark workers at ASU the complaint was filed on behalf of. “I dread going into work most days. I have asthma flare-ups, and they get worse while I’m cooking. I’ve broken out in hives, and I was hospitalized for dehydration; the heat is just unbearable.”
