Pursuant to the provisions of Article V of the By-Laws of UNITE HERE Local 11 and Articles 8, 10, and 12 of the Constitution of UNITE HERE, this is official notice of the nomination and election of Officers and Executive Board Members of Local 11.
NOMINATIONS
Nominations for said Election will be accepted during special membership meetings to be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the Orange County office located at 13252 Garden Grove Blvd, Suite 200, Garden Grove CA 92843 and on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the Los Angeles office located at 464 Lucas Ave, Suite 201, Los Angeles CA 90017 and in the Phoenix office located at 1021 South 7th Avenue, Phoenix AZ 85007. All members in good standing, regardless of craft, may attend and make nominations. A candidate only needs to be nominated at one meeting.
Nominations will be for three Co-Presidents, two Executive Vice Presidents, Recording Secretary, Chaplain, five Vice Presidents, Chair of Trustees, two Trustees, and fifteen members of the Executive Board. By virtue of office, the Co-Presidents shall serve as delegates to the UNITE HERE International Convention and delegates to all other bodies with which the Local affiliates.
Members, in order to be eligible to be nominated, must be in attendance at the meeting in which they are nominated, or they must have submitted in writing prior to the opening of nominations, to the Co-President of Finance their willingness to accept the nomination if their name is proposed. No member may be eligible to be nominated to any office in this Local Union unless they are employed or available for employment in the jurisdiction of this Local Union or are an officer or employee of this Local Union or the International Union. No member shall be eligible to hold an elected office unless they have been in continuous good standing in Local 11 for at least twenty-four (24) consecutive months immediately preceding the opening of nominations. The election committee shall determine the eligibility of all candidates, and their decisions shall be subject to appeal to the President of UNITE HERE. The term for all officers is three years. No member may run for more than one conflicting office. Retired members shall be ineligible to run for or hold office. No seconding motions are required.
Any request to run as a slate must be submitted in writing to the Election Committee no later than Friday, June 5, 2026, and must include candidates for at least 2/3 of the offices. If any candidates for Co-President are included on a proposed slate, there must be at least two candidates for Co-President on the slate. If any candidates for Vice President are included on a proposed slate, there must be at least three candidates for Vice President on the slate. If any candidates for Executive Board are included on a proposed slate, there must be at least eight candidates for Executive Board on the slate.
ELECTION
The election will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Most locations will open for voting from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a few exceptions. Please see the attached page for instructions on when and where you can vote.
All active members in good standing on the day of the election shall be eligible to vote. To be in good standing, dues through April 2026 must be paid. If you have any questions concerning your union status, you may call the Union Dues Department. To vote, you must show at the polling place a piece of identification with your picture. Any candidate shall have the right to have observers at the polls and at the counting of ballots.
The counting and certification of the ballots will be conducted on June 17th, 2026, at 7:30 pm at the UNITE HERE Local 11 office located at 464 South Lucas Ave, Suite 201, and in the Phoenix office located at 1021 South 7th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85007.
The installation of officers will take place at a membership meeting on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the Los Angeles office located at 464 Lucas Av, Los Angeles, CA 90017.
